Poker's Sit & Go Strategy

The following are strategies that are widely used and accepted by many poker players. The following strategies are simple but very strong and logical.

1. Early Stage

Remember that during an early stage of the sit and go poker game you should play a few amount of hands only. Also remember that you should play tightly with other players.

The following are examples of a tight kind of poker game:

a) Monster hands - your main weapons should include one of the following: KK, QQ, AA, AKs and AKo.

Always bear in mind to watch the board carefully, observe other players as well.

b) Medium hands - these kinds of hands are a little bit weaker than monster hands and a little open but still can be very strong especially if you have the right position at the table. These include the following cards: AQs, JJ and AQo.

c) The trapping hands - the following are included in the trapping hands: 1010, 99, 88, 77, 66, 55, 44, 33 and 22.

This hand can win more at the low limit kind of game, or the mini sit and go poker games.

2. Middle Stage

We can say that fun begins at the poker table when the low blinds are all gone and there are the 50-100 blinds. You should now begin to play aggressivly.

Play with above hands but still strong in a way and also you can now add a few hands to your collection of hands.

You can keep that pot healthy by taking control of the pot and stealing blinds, as much as possible do not let competition catch up with you. Stay ahead of the game.

You have a greater advantage if your opponents think that you are playing with very strong hands since at the beginning you are playing too tight while all of a sudden you become alive and aggressive. This strategy works very well.

3. Final Stage

By this time you are expected to have a good observation at the poker table, you are also expected to know which of your opponents are dangerous. You can identify them by observing their tendencies and betting patters. This should be the stage where you are taking more advantage for yourself.

Points to ponder:

> Never slowplay, you simply just can't afford playing slow poker unless you have a beast hand for this game. > If you want to bluff while betting do this with half of the pot, either you are betting just for bluff or for value your opponents can never tell. > If your chips are leading, you can bully your opponents from time to time. > Focus on your game, at an early stage make sure you recognize weak players. You will gain an advantage from them sooner or later. > Again, you need to have discipline in playing a tight game. Be patient at the beginning it will payoff in the end.
