MTT Poker: the Final Table

After spending hours in the early and middle stages, making it through the last few tables, you find yourself at the final table in an MTT Poker. When you are there, you will definitely have to be at your best, so keep the following in mind.

The most important thing that you will have to remember at the final table in an MTT is that you are facing the very best. It is true that sometimes luck can play a factor, but mostly these players, including you, have made it this far through your skills.

During the first few hands, play it as tightly as you did in the early multi table Poker tables. As in a boxing match, the first few hands, unless there is a premium hand, will be mostly a feeling out process, of gauging the other players on the table.

Take this opportunity to size up the other players on the Poker table. Are they all tight? Have some loosened up after a half a dozen hands or so? Check the showdown and see if the players are beginning to play with more hands as the session progresses.

While most players in the final table at an MTT Poker game will be tight, there will be those who will try to be aggressive and take advantage of the situation. If you see a loose player, let him play and take out a few of the other hands.

Remember that your goal is to reach the heads up, so having someone bust out other players that might give you trouble is always good.

When you hit the big hand, bet big pre flop, and get them to fold. If they do not, make a continuation bet, just to show them that you do have a strong hand. Very often this will cause the other players on the table to fold.

Of course, you should also not hesitate to fold if you are re raised by a tight Poker player, or if your hand gets considerably weakened by the flop or the turn. Do not be worried by the amount that you have bet, because what you are looking at here is the final cash prize. Always try to keep that in mind.

The final table at an MTT is the one you have worked for all tournament. When you are there, do not just cave in to the pressure or fold. You did not work so hard to break under the pressure of the other players.

Play your MTT Poker strategies, hit hard when you have the cards, and you will find yourself emerging from the table with the biggest stack.
